For Those Who Hunt with a Lens

Wildlife photography is not about equipment — it is about knowledge, patience, and positioning. The Photography Expedition pairs a professional wildlife photographer (whose work appears in National Geographic, BBC Wildlife, and GEO) with the most meticulously outfitted safari vehicle in Kenya.

Maximum four guests. Custom camera rigs on every window position. Bean bags, gimbal mounts, and a vehicle fitted with a raised hide platform. The photographer manages the light; your guide manages the wildlife. Post-processing sessions each evening cover RAW workflow, composition principles, and species identification.

Your Itinerary

Day 01

Nairobi Maasai Mara · Equipment Orientation

Wilson Airport · Mara Camp

Charter to the Mara. Late afternoon equipment orientation with your lead photographer: camera rig setup, bean bag technique, understanding your camera system's limitations in low light. Brief sunset drive to calibrate.

Day 02

Mara Dawn: Big Cats in First Light

Maasai Mara · Dawn position

Pre-dawn departure to a predetermined position where lion are most likely. First light — the golden hour of wildlife photography — lasts approximately 40 minutes and produces the images that define safari photography.

Day 03

Mara: Birds, Landscapes & Action

Maasai Mara · Mara River

A day covering the full range of Mara subjects: the river's hippos and crocodiles for action photography; the vast landscape compositions; bird photography in the acacia forest. Evening post-processing session covering RAW workflow in Lightroom.

Day 04

Mara: Migration Herds & Open Plains

Maasai Mara

Focus on the wildebeest and zebra herds that define Mara photography. Dust, movement, chaos — and within it, moments of extraordinary stillness. Backlit late afternoon driving session for silhouette work.

Day 05

Mara Amboseli

Charter south · Kilimanjaro framing

Charter to Amboseli. The photographic priority shifts to the iconic: elephant and Kilimanjaro compositions that have defined the image of Africa for a generation.

Day 06

Full Amboseli Photography Day

Amboseli National Park

The clearest Kilimanjaro views come before 8am. Pre-dawn departure. Elephant herds move against the mountain background. Evening: cheetah on the open plain in last light. Final post-processing workshop.

Day 07

Final Amboseli Dawn Nairobi

Amboseli · Wilson Airport

One last dawn session. The way you read light, anticipate animal behaviour, and manage your equipment is fundamentally different from a week ago. Charter to Nairobi.
